Polish F-16D

Stimulated by Polish Heritage and USAF duty, I could not resist constructing the Polish Jastrzab (HAwk). Basics were the Hasagawa F-16D, CMK Block 52 Resin, CMK Conformal Tanks and the Black Box Resin Interior. I will not fail to mention one of the stimulants ,the excellent Twobobs decal sheet for this aircraft (48-166).

I have never utilized so much resin in one kit. I used crazy glue for the primary adhesive, but I blended almost all the exterior components with two part epoxy and cleaned up the extra with isopropyl alcohol. This allowed me to minimize the sanding and loss of detail. The Interior was very difficult for installation and the seats needed quite a bit of work to insert and get the height close. The exhaust was Seamless Suckers and finished with Alclad.

The final paint scheme was accomplished with Testors acrylics for the grays using the FS reference colors from the Twobobs instructions. The scheme was accomplished freehand with a Iwata eclipse and very thinned paint. I used the Testors "Wet look" Lacquer for the gloss coat prior to decals. This paint dries very fast and works very well in providing a smooth base for the decals. Final finish was Testors Semi-gloss lacquer. I did scratch build the landing lights and the rear seat TV monitor for this version of the aircraft.
