1/72 Eduard Fokker Dr.I Stripdown

Few years ago I have bought at local model contest this kit. It contains one complete plastic model of the Eduard Fokker Dr.I plus three large sheets of photoetched parts.  We use all of the metal parts but only a few plastic ones.  If some of you have seen these Eduard Stripdowns already, then you know how tiny they are.  However, I enjoyed this build from the beginning. Even though the model itself is very small, just about 7,5cm (2,9 inches) long and 10cm (3,94 inches) wingspan, everything fits great.  I was quite worried about final completion (especially about the geometry) but luckily, it turned out quite good.

The kit itself is well detailed but anyway I decided to add cables to rudder and elevator, ropes between wing ribs, instrument dials from spare decals, small windshield on the top of the middle wing, machineguns handles, rear-view mirror on the right strut and valves on the inner side of wheel discs.

It took me about three weeks to complete the little Fokker and I am looking forward to build something similar soon.

Thanks for looking

PS: this kit is recommended for experienced modellers
