1/72 Airfix Westland Whirlwind

These are pics of my 1/72 Airfix Westland Whirlwind.  This is an old kit, with raised panel lines and poorly detailed cockpit and landing gear wells.  It was built two years ago, before the release of the Special Hobby new kit.   Murphy's law.

I rescribed the panel lines in the fuselage and wings.  I added some scratch-built parts and brass (from Airwaves) in the cockpit and wings, and some plastic details in the landing gear wells.

It was painted with Gunze acrylics in normal scheme of the R.A.F. in 1942.

I airbrushed it by masking with Bluetack.  With a previous sprayed coat of Klear, the decals were on working great.  Some washes with oils, and a last coat of Spanish varnish titan opal.  I changed the previous scene, with another new and two old figures from Heller.

I hope you all enjoy seeing it.
