Grumman JRF Goose "PACIFIC COASTAL"

This could be regarded as a what if subject since the actual aircraft differs greatly in appearance with Pacific Coastal. It was built for a friend of mine who was well acquainted with the the subject many years ago and asked for this particular color scheme and markings. Keeping in mind that this is the modelers interpretation I was quite happy with the outcome and the model was well received.

The kit contains a fair bit of resin which I found very brittle and a bit hard to work with. The kit itself is absent of all locater pins on the wing, fuselage and pontoons, but not to difficult to build. In some areas a fair amount of filler was needed to close the gaps and flair in steps due to some shrinkage in the fuselage halves. MM paints were used throughout the build.

A Happy New Year to you all and may 2011 be a great year for modeling.
