Here is my First attempt to build a model and my first attempt at a Prototype.
As a kid I never had the pleasure to work on any models, while moving to a new home, I found a box with my name from my mother that had a note saying she forgot to give me this model as a kid.
The model in question was an old 1970's Baa Baa Blacksheep Corsair.

Not having any idea I was going to start to like this model I put it away for a while, in 2008 I was asked by a friend to help him copy old airplane plans for another friend of his and sure enough, I came across an old drawing from a magazine on
the XF4U-1, this got my curiosity started and I spent the first 7 months of 2009 researching everything I could on the Corsair.
I finally started asking around how difficult it would be to move the cabin forward since the finished corsair had a longer nose.
After much tweeking around and a whole bunch of Styrene and glue later I got the cabin moved forward and filled a lot of gaps with strip styrene.
All paints used where from spray cans since I did not have any airbrush or any idea how to use it.
Decals came from a Pre-WW II National Insignia
Looking back a lot of work still needs to be done as can be seen on the average painting job and detailing, but for a first model I am very proud of my small accomplishment.
A better version will be done in the near future with 1/32 trumpeter F4U-1
Enjoy!
