This is Phantom #147. This is my second Revel/Monogram 1/48 Phantom.  Sure the Hasegawa is better but this kit is not too bad.  It has raised panel lines but so does the Hasegawa. the engine exhausts are lacking but oh well, its not like I am going to be looking up the tail pipes with the model sitting on a shelf. Cockpit is a bit weird as the bottoms of the ejection seats are molded into the cockpit.

Still once assembled it looks like a Phantom. Not all that different from the Hasegawa.

The Hasegawa comes with a couple different parts like the actuators for the speed brakes and the canopies. The last Hasegawa kit built by me was done in flight so these parts were left over, and used on this build.

Which really helps. The canopies however are an awful fit and work best in the up position. Closed they just do not fit and look off.

The other add on to this kit is Hasegawa pilots as the Monogram kit only comes with one seated pilot, the other is standing holding his helmet.

Another odd thing I did was NOT removing the 1979 manufacture date under the tail. Think the old school tag is kind of neat. The decals used are rather old Superscale decals and spares for the stars and bars. The model was built for the Texas group build here on ARC.

The group shot photos include the left side of the Phantom wall and another shot showing all my "state Phantoms".
