Hi to all modellers, I would like to show you my last project just finished. It is a TF-104 of the 20th O.C.U. based in Grosseto AB until his official retirement in the year 2004. I built it using an Hasegawa kit.

Building was fun and pretty much straight forward. The only minor issues were found in the air intake parts. The fit is quite ok with some filling needed. Other than that construction was ok.

Building is completely out of the box. Decals are a little bit thick but colors fidelity is good.  The only extra work is on the ejection seat. I wanted to add seatbelts coming from some scratchbuilt materials found on my spare box.

For painting I chose the grey camo scheme of the Italian Air Force during the last years of flight of the F-104. Colors are the Tamiya XF-53 overall and some other Tamiya greys to highlight the panels. On this one I tried to apply some weather techniques with airbrush first and oils in a second time. The final product is a pretty "heavy weathered" trainer that probably couldn't be found on the flight-line.

Anyway I am pretty satisfied with the overall result.

The model is seated on a "corner" of a taxiway with on the chocks and some "remove before flight" tags from Eduard.

Thanks a lot.

Enjoy the photos hope you like!!!
