Revell's 32nd scale Heinkel 111 is a spectacular model. It's size alone is impressive enough.

The kit is beautifully detailed, inside and out and the thin, clear transparencies are so clear that the interior can be easily seen.

Despite the amount of detail in the box, I decided to add some more.

I used Eduard's set for the cockpit, it's pre-coloured and self adhesive and is worth using.

I also added some wiring for the rear of the instrument panel, and some etched belts.

I cut away the doors leading to the bomb bays from the internal bulkheads to allow a better vision of the internal details.

Crews were known to remove these doors on their aeroplanes on operations.

The MG-15s were a bit of a disappointment so resin replacements from Czech Master Kits were used and they come supplied with etched ring sites which really do make them stand out

The model includes the vertical bomb cells and a full load of bombs to go with them.

I used Xtracolor enamels to paint the Heinkel. They have a gloss finish, so they are ready for the decals and all that is needed is a matt cote afterwards.

I used a set of decals from AIMs that are for an aeroplane from the Battle of Britain.

I weathered her fairly heavily as this version was used in the early stages of WWII and operated from improvised airfields so their paint finish did suffer.
