The aircraft was built using Tamiya's kit with the addition of Eduard's photo etched detail set and landing flap set, UltraCast's resin control surfaces and brass Hispano cannons, and Techmod's decal set for marking the craft as Jan Zumbach's RF.D from the RAF 303rd Squadron in 1942. The aircraft was painted using Model Master and Tamiya acrylics (RAF dark green, ocean grey, medium sea grey, aircraft interior black and sky). The scenery was created using a canvas oil painting board as a base, with the inclusion of figures and accessories from Eduard, Revell and Tamiya kits, as well as some scratch built balsa wood crates. The turf was created using Woodland Scenics grasses, the water created using Scene-o-rama's still water kit, and the fence scratch built from balsa wood, speaker wire and wire mesh. The airstrip was created using sections of Eduard's 1:48 perforated steel plate. All weathering was accomplished using Mig pigments, oil and grease stain, and Vallejo washes.

The piece was built for a friend of my father's of Polish descent. The option of the lowered landing flaps was used to depict the aircraft undergoing maintenance / inspection.

Enjoy the photos.
