1/48 Eduard Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXe

This is one of my last two finished kits: both were the beautiful Spitfires from Eduard, in 1/48 scale. I built a "c Late" version from their first release, a "profipack" box, under the reference 8281, that left me really impressed by the amazing surface detail. Right away after buying this profipacked "c Late" version, I went into Eduard's online store and ordered a simplified Spitfire kit (Overtrees being the commercial name), great marketing strategy from Eduard, including only the basic plastic parts for the "e version" with no decal sheet, no instructions manual, no photoetched parts but definitely with all the parts needed to built the desired version at a very good and reasonable price.

Almost during that same time I got in my hands Kagero's Mini Top Colors (number 27) with the title "Polish Spitfires", with an excellent decal sheet full of markings barely seen before, deciding to build an attractive Polish Mk IXe coded "LW-L", carrying sexy markings with the writing "Why Not?". A well known photo of the real aircraft can be seen on the Internet:

This Spitfire and one other might be included soon in a future issue of FineScale Modeler Magazine. More pics in my homepage webmodelismo.com.

An excellent kit that for sure I will build again, probably in desert camouflage the next time.

Remember... "Vista, suerte... y a modelar!"

All the best,
