The L-19E Bird Dog was widely used by many western militaries in the observer, liaison and general duty role. The Canadian Army bought several in a couple batches after in the 50s to replace several war time observation planes. They were used right up until the early 70's when replaced by the light Kiowa helicopter.

This is NOT an easy kit. Nor a particularly easy build. The ejector pin marks do not line up. The parts just plan old do not fit. The clear parts have a huge amount of flash which have to be removed and well..they just do not fit! The main windshield fits ok, which was a pleasant surprise. During the build I had to tear down the fuselage and start over. Once I bashed it all together a second time with too much glue it looked better. A huge amount of sanding later found no need for putty. That was a nice surprise. The paint was nice and simple and the decals are supplied by Canmilair.

Enjoy the photos.
