India Republic Day

Dragon Rapide HX790 formerly VT-AJB of the TATA Airlines was impressed into wartime service for coastal defence. This aircraft belonged to No.2 Costal Defence Force. based at Juhu Aerodrome , Mumbai (then called Bombay). The Coastal Defence force were formed immediately after the outbreak of second world war . Several RAF units detached aircraft to form flights. Most if the CDF aircraft were obsolete types like Wapitis, Audaxes Blenhiems etc. RAF and Indian Air Force Volunteers Reserve Aircrew manned these units.

This is a old Heller kit and was rather cheap. did not have much fit issues , rigging was a bit of a pain though. other wise a breeze to build. I had to salvage the roundel from my spare decals . and serial number was self printed.

Wishing every one a happy Indian Republic day " Jai Hind" .
