"100 AÑOS DE REPUBLICA, 56 AÑOS DE AVIACION" its the name of this
diorama.
On November 3, 2003, The Republic of Panama celebrated its centenary.
In that same year, Copa Airlines, on its 56th aniversary, dressed up one of its
new Boeing 737-700 with a livery commemorating our centenary.
This diorama presents the "oldest" and the "new" of Copa
Airlines –a Douglas DC-3, and a Boeing 737-700. It is a tribute to my country
PANAMA; and to my uncle, Captain Anel Wong, who have been in the company for
more than 30 years. He has the glory of operate both planes, as well as others.
The Douglas DC-3 is a Minicraft kit No.14434. It was painted using
Tamiya X-2 white, and Testors Model Masters metalizers.
The Boeing 737 is a Minicraft kit No. 14481. Although this kit is a 737-300,
it was converted to a –700 due to its similarity doing minor changes. The
winglets were scratch built using Tech Star’s 0.04 styrene sheet. It was
painted with Tamiya X-2 white and Gunze Sangyo H315 (FS16440). The leading edges
were worked using Testors Model Masters Krome Foil 50636C.
This diorama is permanently exposed, since November 2003, at Copa Airlines
headquarters, located in Justo Arosemena Avenue, Panama City, Panama.
