“Lt Knight was awarded the Medal of Honor  for low level attacks against German airfields in Northern Italy on 24 and 25 April 1945.He destroyed over 20 German aircraft before he was brought down by flak and killed.

Lt Knight was the only Medal of Honor  winner who flew the P-47 in the European Theater”.

The model has built mostly OOB except for the Eduard seat belts and Tally Ho PE gunsight used in the cockpit .

Decals are from the Superscale decal sheet (# 48793).

The code “RE” refers to Farmingdale factory production so “Oh Johnnie” has “the Hamilton Standart propeller”.

Painting was done by the Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya acrylics, and later weathered by artist oil paint washing.
