1/48 Revell / Italeri X-32B

converted from the X-32A kit

I modified a Revell / Italeri X-32A into the B model v/stol version.  First I clipped the wings.  I then turned my attention to the front air intake cutting it back to photos I got from Boeing matching where to cut and modify to photos.  I then used milliput to fill and mould around intake.  You can see right up to the jet fan blades.  The hardest part was to cut out and modify for the exhaust nozzles again using photos from Boeing web site also you have cover up the weapons bay and milliput over and smooth down any joints.

The nozzles where made from evergreen tube matched to size with strips around the nozzles edges.  Also you have to make the skirt around the bottom again using strip from the evergreen range.  They did not put any X32b decals or Rolls Royce Badges in with the kit, so I made mine using paint software on windows and reduced them down to size so that they could be printed on to clear decal sheet and put them on to model you can really see them on the model.  I placed a piece of silver trim film by Microscale on first then put the Rolls Royce decal on top, I also made the X32B decals as well. I have put it on a base as it sets it off in its natural surroundings.

Below are 3 photos of my X-35B in operational markings.
