  Victory Day in Turkey 2005

Being an AFV modeler, I wanted to model a Turkish Air Force Spitfire Mk I in 1/72 scale for "Victory Day" of our country.  As far as I know there 2 or 3 of these aircraft.  For this purpose, I bought a set of Turquoise Decals (Set no. TD002). Although the kit parts fit like dream, I managed to fail on that while assembling the fuselage.

I used Gunze, Revell and Tamiya paints on the kit.  Since this tiny model is at 1/72, I had to mix the base colors with lighter shades.  Hard mask was applied to the model for painting the camouflage pattern.  It was a bit fiddly for a tank guy like me.

I used, Micro Gloss, Micro Sol and Micro Set, and another coat of Micro Gloss for the decals, while taking care of the weathering sequence by Winsor-Newton oils wash with turpentine (AFV tradition), Gunze-Sangyo Soot for machine gun and exhaust smoke, rust for the exhaust. After finishing my model some fellow modelers informed me that the number "1" on the side of the fuselage was wrong for its length and width.
