1/72 Revell Scale Dr-1

This is my first posting to this wonderful website. I have received so much inspiration from everyone's models. This is the new Revell Dr-1 done in Joseph Jacob's colors. I wanted to do this scheme for a long time and when a friend gave me Roden's 1/32 Dr-1 with the option of doing this plane, I had my plan. I normally only do "Braille Scale" so without any decals in this size to use I tried to paint the devils head. It turned out bad. But thanks to two great friends Mike Kloppenburg and John Jernigan who made two "tiny" devils head decals for me, I was able to finish this little tripe! I think it is the only one in this scale I have seen on the net.

The kit is OOB except for the Eduard spandaus. I made seat belts from masking tape and photo etch sprue. The rigging is surgical wire and old nylon suture. There are pushrods on the oberusel but they are impossible to see. The unusual eisernkruez are maskings and paint by airbrush. I also masked and airbrushed the propeller. This little kit went together quite well and I have several more I want to make. Hopefully I can post them too. Enjoy!
