About a year ago I
built this one. It`s my interpretation of an A-1H from 56th SOW, 602nd SOS. The
kit comes very good, has fine recessed panel lines and fits well. There wasn`t
much filling and sanding. The cockpit was replaced with an Aires set of resin
and photo etch because the one that comes with the kit is very simple, just
plain panels and some decals. Ussually I build them OOB but this I wanted to be
different.

I also replaced the
gun barrels with syringe needles giving it a better and more real look,
added the brake fluid lines to the main gears and drilled the exhausts. Not much
mods, just some to give it a better look.
Painting was made using Model
Master colours. The decals were treated with thinner since they are too thick.
Thinner blends the decal into the painted surface like a fresco but you have to
be carefull because too much will ruin the decal or even the whole job.
Weathering was made with pastel chalks and thinned black paint sprayed on. All
was sealed with Testors dull cote.
