I built this 1/48
F/A-18F limited edition for a contest. This kit has sharp panellines and is
well designed and detailed, but I feel that the pilot seat is a kind of empty. I
used the resin
pilot seat from a Blackbox set that was released new. However, the HUD did not
match, so I designed that by myself. The original kit and resin set from
Blackbox did
not have the button in the monitor at the front instrument cluster. So I drew
the button.
I made the back mirror on the canopy with PLAPLATE and nozzle at the canopy did not
match, so I made up with epoxy putty and drew panellines. This part was so
hard.

The kit was armed
with Two AIM-20s and two AIM-9x and GBU-16 at center pylon is from Hasegawa
armor D set. The GBU-16 is implemented by preventing explosion.
Decal are from VFA-2 'Bounty
Hunters from Twobobs. I really like LOW VISIBILITY. The kit and extra decals did
have Heatproof board at stern. So I implement that by using stencil.
Jihoon Lee
who is member of Modeler Forum helped me to implement it. I did weathering with enamel
referring to a real picture. It was high level
work. I am satisfied although this is not perfect. Thank you for your time.
