Here
is my 1/48 Italeri F-22A Raptor.
Some people may think it is a
bit late to present this model but actually I started this model more than
2 years ago. It took a long time, because I just could not find the motivation
to finish this rough kit. This is true that the amount of work to make this kit
something nice is great.
I added some scratch built
detail to the canopy as shown in the picture here below to the left. The jet
intakes have been refined has shown (here below to the right).

On
the exterior, I dropped all the movable surfaces: leading edge slats, flaps,
ailerons, horizontal stabilizers and the tails as well to represent the plane
during a high angle of attack roll manoeuvre in order to make the kit more
”alive”. During my research for documentation on the Raptor I have noted
that it can deflect the flaps upwards so I took this feature into account.
Concerning
the global paint scheme, I did not take a long time to choose the paints so it
may appear a bit strange (especially for the nose of the aircraft) sorry for
that.
Finally
it took a lot of work, but I am happy with the result even if it could be better
(but it could always be better anyway… J).
This strange beautiful fighter looks pretty nice when flying doesn’t it?
Enjoy!
(and sorry for my bad English…J)
Stephane
