I just did some
nearly final bits on the 109, some minor items are still left open (guns,
exhaust strains e.a.). Itīs the Tamiya kit. All the ribs on the
flying surfaces were puttied and sanded and instantly the whole thing
looks better. The steam engine rivets on the canopy frames were
deleted, too. What I donīt like are the undersized code letters and
the softened wire. It had the correct tension after being fixed.
The model was primed with automotive primer, then smoothed with
micromesh. Then Schmincke artist airbrush acrylics (self mixed) then
weathering with Schmincke again. A coat of Future (thinned with 50%
of destilled water) and micromesh treatment (4000 and 6000). The
recessed panel lines filled with a wash of white spirit and a dark X-tra
color mix. Decaling, again the Future mix, micromesh and finally a
coat of the best and cheapest variant of semi flat: Marabu aqua flat
varnish (for silk-painting), touch dry after 30 minutes , 250 ml (!!) for
just ? 7.80 and WEATHER PROOF.
Cheers from Berlin
Andreas
