Hi
friends of ARC. Here are some pictures of my Monogram F-15C
Eagle that I built some years ago. The kit has very good detail and
like most old style Monogram kits, it has raised panel lines.
The
kit was assembled mostly out of box; I only added a resin seat and wheels from
True Details and some parts in the canopy obtained from the old Model
Technologies photoetched set. The under wing tanks are from the Fujimi
kit.
The
cockpit itself is fantastic and very close to the real thing if compared
with the pictures in Lock’On 4. It was a challenge for me to do
the very meticulous painting on the instrument panels and I’m very happy with
the result.

For
painting I used Humbrol enamels, typical grey colours for USAF planes over
a primer coat Model Master (Grey Primer); the metallic areas were painted
with Model Master metalizer colours but the finish brightness was not as
shiny as I hoped but watching the real plane this area becomes a little
opaque with the heat of the engines.
The
decals are from Superscale and I used an entire sheet of stencils; this almost
drives me crazy applying so many little lettering, little numbers and
symbols!
