In 60's, Japanese
Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) started to receive and operate modern supersonic
fighters F-104J. To ensure the pilots skill, JASDF need a supersonic trainer
aircraft.
Finally, Mitsubishi's proposal was selected. In July 1971, a first prototype
supersonic trainer XT-2 was built.

Here is my 1/72
Hasegawa XT-2. The kits was released over 30 years. It has a raised panel lines
and seems not an accurate 1/72 scale, it should be 1/70! The kit came with
white metal parts for the special pilot tube. And the decals contains two options.
I
sanded and re-scribed the panel lines. Since the original ejection seats are not
detailed enough, I replaced them with two resin F-104 ejection seats.
When I completed it,
Hasegawa confirmed that will release 1/48 XT-2 in this year (2008) ~~~
Regards,
Kit
