On
my Birthday, my 6-year-old son Olaf picked-up “daddy’s gift” from our
favorite Hobby Shop shelves. A Black Tornado with a nice German special
paint. Well, I guess I couldn’t disappoint him, so I started building
the plane. Though the subject is strange to me, I managed to get some
pictures from the Internet & started what it was a pretty straight build.
I can tell you that out of every 20 kits bought from Revell, 19 are pretty good
in terms of quality. This one, amazed me regarding the decals. It
holds around 50 pieces of them, which all set pretty good on the surfaces using
decal setting solution. My suggestion is to cut these three pieces into long strips.

During
the decaling stage, I found the side with the fuel probe to be difficult. I
was wondering why they kept it on this particular plane… just to find
out, carefully & later, that on an Internet picture this specific
airplane seems not to have it. Well, it was already done. Time
for pictures, though some limitations found during the session, I was able
to get some of them almost right. It was a great kit to build, not
being a particular Tornado fan, though it helped me to walk through some
techniques. At least little Olaf is not disappointed! As
always, a great pleasure to stay around the ARC community.
