This
is my first submission to ARC, so I hope you like it. This is the Revell Mk3 kit
converted using the Aeroclub conversion kit and also their interior and
etched brass flaps sets. It is shown in 205 Sqn markings of the Far East Air Force at
Changi,
Singapore
around the late 60’s to early 70’s. This aircraft (WL 795) was crewed by my
Uncle, hence the build, and returned to the UK in 1971. It is still
exists at the gate at RAF St Mawgan.

The
other first for me was printing my own decals for the Sqn markings and
aircraft codes. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the white outlines to print
so I hade to paint them on by hand. The antennas were made from stretched
sprue, and I scratch built the Engineers panel and put a floor in the
aircraft. All in all no major problems with the kit or conversion sets
fitting together, and an unusual addition to my collection.
