Hi, this is my first
submission to the ARC gallery. I've done some plastic kits for a while. While I'm
old enough (28 years old), I'm still just a beginner modeler (still have no
airbrush, little paint stock, etc).
This is 1/72 Condor
MiG-21UM Mongol. I built it out of box, the plastic is thick and soft,
transparent parts are fragile (I managed to cracked one, you can see it on front
canopy opening), panel lines are recessed (very shallow). Fit is rather good,
but the decals supplied were unusable (they cracked as soon as entered the water).
Because I
don't have an airbrush, I painted this kit with ordinary silver automotive spray
can paint (actually the marking is spurious, what-if, because I had to replace
the decals with other spare MiG-21SMT decal from Condor). Detail paints are
hand-brushed (using Tamiya enamel/acrylic), accenting the panel lines using 2B
pencil (panel lines too shallow to be washed, and I didn't want to re-scribe it).
Overall this is fun to build.

While it's not good enough,
with my current level I'm still satisfied. I hope you enjoy it, thank you
for reading, and happy modeling ....
