This particular
Hornet featured on this sheet is a CAG bird with VFA-34 as flown by Capt.
Dana "Smudge" Potts. This Hornet was operating off the
CVW-17 USS George Washington during it's combat cruise to Afghanistan and
Iraq between July and December 2002.
The markings are a lo-viz
TPS gray scheme of FS 36375 and FS 36320 with some very unique markings on
the outside of the vertical stabilizers. One features the Squadron's
artwork in the form of a cigarette smoking skull with red wings. The
other side features artwork of "a deck of cards with the Joker card on
top".
The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear
carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which
is always good to see.
The instructions
are clear and an extra page of text instruction is included with a small bit of info
about this plane as well as helpful tips for decal application. |
