Three complete aircraft are
represented on this new release from Twobobs. All three were
involved in combat missions in support of either OEF or OIF.
BuNo 163133 from VMFA-115
is an F/A-18A+ and is one of the more colorful Marine Hornets you're
going to find out there. Full color flag artwork on the speed
brake and R/W/B markings adorn the rest of the jet. There is also
a false canopy on the bottom of the A/C. This squadron flew in
support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
BuNo 164910 from VMFA-251
is a C model Hornet that flew missions in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom. A false canopy and some stylized text on the LEX are
prominent on this A/C
BuNo 165686 from VMFA-225
is a D model Hornet with mission markings that signify number of SAMs
defeated during its missions in support of OIF. There is also some
artwork on the port vertical stab that is in honor of the 1st Marine
Division which is the most highly decorated division in the US
Marines. Combat ops kept the right side of the jet from being
painted so only the left side was done while on deployment.
