Eli Raphael is busy producing more of his decals
with sexy nose art. This new decal
sheet from
Zotz
Decals
includes markings for two different
1/48 or 1/72 B-24's. The recommended kits for these decals is the 1/1/48
Monogram B-24J or the 1/72 Academy B-24J&M variants.
The first aircraft is a baremetal B-24M-15-FO. Serial number
44-50853 with the 5th AF, 43rd BG, 64thBS. This aircraft has an Olive Drab anti-glare panel in front of the
windshield and the leading edges of the wings are black. The nose art on this one is "Mabel
Label"
(see image at top of this review). This B-24 has quite large and colourful
noseart of a smiling tropical lady with silhouette nude females and lip
prints and the text "Gimme a great big smile!" across the lower
part of the noseart. On the outside of the tail are red and white
horizontal stripes on the rudders....these are supplied as decals and include a
diagonal black stripe along the forward part of the tails in front of the
rudders. The exact serial number on the tail is in dispute.....so both are
supplied as decals. Double check the turret and nose configuration with
your kit to make sure everything
matches.....or you may need to buy a conversion
set.
The
second aircraft is a baremetal B-24M-5-CO. Serial number 44-41875 with
the 7th AF, 494th BG, 866thBS. This aircraft has an Olive Drab anti-glare
panel in front of the windshield and the leading edges of the wings are
black. The nose art on this one is "Net Results" and features a
scantily clad lady in tennis attire tangled in a tennis net (see image at
top of this review).
