1/48 A-4M Lo-Vis Mikes Part I decal sheet

Product #48092

Product Article by Steve Bamford on May 5 2005

This sheet features three A-4 skyhawk's in 3 Squadrons with the USMC.  Those 3 Squadrons include VMAT-102 "Skyhawks", VMA-322 "Fighting Gamecocks", VMA-311 "Tomcats".

When you build the A-4M using these decals, the recommended kit would be the 1/48 Hasegawa A-4M.

The 2 pages of instructions include 4 view colour drawings of each aircraft's paint scheme and decal placement.  You get enough markings to build all three of these A-4M Skyhawks and the decals are beautifully printed in the usual high quality Twobobs is known for.  Paint schemes for all 3 of these jets is the usual lo-viz grey scheme.

VMAT-102 "Skyhawks" flew the A-4M from 1975 until 1987 and was involved in the training role of ground attack pilots as well as technical training of maintenance personnel.

VMA-322 "Fighting Gamecocks" flew the A-4M from 1984 until 1992.

Of the 3 jets on this decal sheet, I'm partial to the VMA-311 "Tomcats" jet with the big black cat on the tail.  This squadron flew the A-4M from 1974 to 1988.

Colours are listed in FS#'s, Testors, Gunze Sangyo, Xtracolor and Xtraacrylics.

I'd like to thank Twobobs for the review sample.
