This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 3 different Fokker Dr.1's including the Red Baron's brother.

The first aircraft is a Fokker Dr.1 454/17 (W.Nr. 2079) flown by Oberleutnant Lothar Freiherr von Richthofen Staffelfuhrer, Jasta 11 from Avesnes-le-Sec in March 1918.  Lothar joined his famous brother and was an amazingly successful fighter pilot that managed 40 victories in only 77 operational sorties.  Sadly he died in 1922 when his civilian aircraft suffered engine failure and crashed.  The paint scheme is a fabric that is overall Fokker green streaked over clear doped linen with a yellow rear fuselage and tail and yellow on the top side of the top wing except in the section where there are crosses.  The wing struts, wheels and engine cowling ring are red and the propeller is wood.  All the black crosses have white outlines.  The underside of the wings and fuselage is a Fokker Turquoise (light blue) colour.

The second aircraft is a Fokker Dr.1 577/17 (W.Nr. 2247) flown by Leutnant Rudolf Klimke, Jasta 27 from Halluin-Ost in May 1918.  Klimke is unique because he is the first person to bomb London at night on May 6/7 1917 while flying a Albatros C, VII.

Klimke had 16 victories to his credit by the end of the war.  He and his observer dropped five 22 Lb bombs.  The paint scheme is a fabric that is overall Fokker green streaked over clear doped linen with a yellow rear fuselage, tail, engine cowling ring, wing struts and wheels.  The rudder is white.  The propeller is wood.  All the black crosses have white outlines.  The underside of the wings and fuselage is a Fokker Turquoise (light blue) colour.  There is a yellow anchor on the side of the fuselage and a large black anchor on the topside of the tail....these were applied at the insistence of the pilot's mother for good luck....he survived the war....so it must have worked.

The third aircraft is a Fokker Dr.1 404/17 (W.Nr. 1988) flown by Hauptmann Adolf Ritter von Tutschek, Kommandeur, JG 2 from Toulis in March 1918.  By August 1917 he had 21 victories and received the Pour le Merite.  He was shot down and killed in this aircraft on March 15 1918.  The paint scheme is a fabric that is overall Fokker green streaked over clear doped linen with a black rear fuselage, tail.

The engine cowling ring is white and the wheels are Fokker green streaked.  The propeller is wood.  All the black crosses have white outlines and the wing crosses are applied over black sections on the wings.  The underside of the wings and fuselage is a Fokker Turquoise (light blue) colour.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement.  There is also 2 pages of text including information about all of the aircraft.

A very nice decal sheet and will be helpful for anyone building a big 1/32 Fokker Triplane flown by famous Aces.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
