These new resin
items from Cutting
Edge Modelworks will permit you to upgrade your 1/32 Roden Fokker Dr.I
with Early Ailerons and add a corrected engine cowling with enhanced detail. The Roden kit provides good mid- and late-production
ailerons for the Dr.I, however, a fair number of early Fokker Dr.Is carried the
ailerons with extended-length counterbalances as used on the Fokker F.I
prototypes. In some cases, one early and one mid production ailerons were
carried on the same plane. This set allows you to model any of the early
configuration Dr.Is.
The ailerons are pretty straight forward items which are full of
crisp rich detail to replace the kit parts. The attachment points are thin
and will be easy to deal with. The trailing edge is ultra thin and
tapered with the correct ribbing effect. Light partially shines
through the tailing edge on the thinner points.....simply lovely. |

This
new resin cowling from Cutting
Edge Modelworks is a corrected cowling for the Roden Fokker Dr.I. The
Roden kit has a definite weak spot in the lack of detail on the cowling.
This carefully crafted resin replacement includes a separate font plate, the
fine rivet lines, and the rolled outer circumference as seen on the real Dr.1. |

Resin casting
is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air
bubbles. These resin items from Cutting Edge
Modelworks will permit you to equip your Fokker Dr.I with the early
ailerons and a engine cowling with improved detail and will help you get your Dr.1 looking as accurate as possible.
I would like to
thank Cutting Edge
Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
