This
new decal sheet f rom
Cutting
Edge Modelworks includes
markings for four different 1/48 Fw 190D-9. These aircraft
are the early Doras fitted with the 5 piece cowl guns instead of the
simplified 3 piece guns found on later Doras.
The
first aircraft is a Fw 190 D-9, Red 18, W.Nr. 211115, I./EKG(J), Pilsen,
May 1945. The paint scheme is RLM 82/83 (green/green) on top with
RLM 75 gray mottling (spots?) over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage
sides. The underside is also RLM 76 light blue. There is an
RLM 04 yellow theater band on the rear of the fuselage although there is
uncertainty as to whether this theater band might have been white. The yellow
one is included as a decal. The spinner
is black.
The
second aircraft
is a Fw 190
D-9, Black Bar + Bar, W.Nr. 211929, Stab/JG 6, Reichenberg, May 1945.
The paint scheme is RLM 82/83 (green/green) on top with RLM 75 gray
mottling (spots?) over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage sides. The
underside is also RLM 76 light blue. The spinner is black with a
white spiral.

The paint scheme is RLM 82/8375 (green/green/gray) on top with wavey camo
patterns over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage sides. The underside is
also RLM 76 light blue. There are white and black theater bands on
the rear of the fuselage. There is an RLM 04 yellow rudder as well
as a yellow panel under the engine. The spinner is black with
a white spiral.

The
fourth aircraft
is a Fw 190
D-9, Brown 2, W.Nr. 210222, 7./JG 26, Schleswig, May 1945.
The paint scheme is RLM 82/8375 (green/green/gray) on top with
sharp edged camo patterns over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage
sides. The underside is also RLM 76 light blue. There
is an RLM 04 yellow panel under the engine. The
spinner is black and white.
The instructions are clear
and include 3 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully
printed on 1 decal sheet. One complete set of stencils is included
on this decal sheet.
The
Dora has always been my favourite Fw-190, so this sheet is a very
pleasant sight.
