1/48 resin 35 Draken dropped flaps and elevons

Review by Steve Bamford on May 4 2009

This new resin set by Maestro Models Conversions from Rebell Hobby are designed to let you to drop the flaps and elevons on your 1/48 Hasegawa SAAB 35 Draken.

When parked, the pressure in the hydraulic system on the Draken is lost and the flaps and elevons drop to the down position.  This set permits you to accurately display your model in the parked configuration.

You will need to cut these areas off the wings of your model with with a fine saw or scoring back and forth with an X-Acto blade.  Once you clean up the cut edges of your wings you can begin installing these resin and photo etch parts.  The photo etch parts are designed to cover the opening in the wingroot fuselage areas where you cut away the kit parts.  this area will be exposed once the dropped control surfaces are installed.

The resin parts are nicely done with some added detail and the photo etch parts are exceptionally well done and full of fine detail.

The instructions are clear and include 3 photos and text to help you with the installation of these parts.  If you want accuracy then these parts from  Rebell Hobby are a must.  This is a cool set and it will add realism to your Draken.
