This is one of the most popular decal sheets from Twobobs and I'm pleased to see it re-released, but the best part is the sheet has been upgraded.

The F-117 has always had a mystical reputation during it's operational life and now that it has slipped into retirement.......the interest in this jet is stronger than ever.

This sheet gives you markings for five F-117A's including one with huge skunk on the underside in honor of the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks.

  • F-117A Nighthawk A/C 88-803, 8th Fighter Squadron "Black Sheep"

  • F-117A Nighthawk A/C 88-806, 7th Fighter Squadron "Screamin Deamons Vega 31"

  • F-117A Nighthawk A/C 88-820, 9th Fighter Squadron "Flying Knights"

  • F-117A Nighthawk A/C 88-843, 49th FW Commander A/C

  • F-117A Nighthawk A/C 85-831, Lockheed Martin Skunkworks artwork covering underside

"Vega 31"....F-117A Nighthawk A/C 88-806, 7th Fighter Squadron "Screamin Deamons Vega 31" is the one and only F-117 Nighthawk to be shot down by enemy fire.  This was the Stealth Fighter that was shot down over Yugoslavia  on Mar 27 1999 by a SA-6 "Kub" missile during a low level bombing mission.  Thankfully the pilot was later rescued by the Air Force Command Control/Pararescue forces.

This decal sheet is designed for the Tamiya kit and this is important if you are building the F-117A Nighthawk A/C 85-831, Lockheed Martin Skunkworks artwork covering underside, as the artwork needs to fit the bomb bay doors correctly.

To dress up your Tamiya F-117A you could use the Black Box Cockpit, Aires Accessories and Eduard Accessories items.

The instructions are clear and include 4 views of each aircraft.  The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets.  Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM, Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics.

It's good to see this decal sheet re-released as I know I've been looking for some markings for the Tamiya F-117 I've had sitting in my stash.

Special thanks goes out to Shawn Hull and the Corrosion Control folks at Holloman AFB that provided references.

This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/ and select US Hobby Shops.  Overseas customers can purchase these from Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
