This new release from
Twobobs
celebrates the Centennial of Naval Aviation with heritage markings for two F/A-18F aircraft from the Vampires of VX-9. Full set of markings for both aircraft are included on this sheet.
Each of the Twobobs
Centennial products feature a 3" pressure sensitive sticker of the official
logo of the Centennial of Naval Aviation, which is perfect for a diorama base
for your model.
Twobobs has worked
directly with the US Navy as a licensed provider of decal markings to celebrate
this historic event and was the first decal manufacturer to receive a licensing
agreement with the US Navy!
The aircraft include
the following:
-
F/A-18F, BuNo
166673 with VX-9 Vampires from NAS China Lake in February
2011. The paint scheme is gray overall with black tails and hi-Viz
markings.
-
F/A-18F, BuNo
166791 with VX-9 Vampires from NAS China Lake in February
2011. The paint scheme is gray overall with green stripes with
squadron artwork on the tails and hi-viz markings.

The instructions are clear and
include 4 views of each aircraft and include small walkaround photos of the two
aircraft featured on this decal sheet. The decals are beautifully printed
on 1 decal sheet and 1 insert decal sheet. Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM,
Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics. You get artwork that you can
apply to your intake and exhaust covers,
should you decide to use intake and exhaust covers.
It's good to see the Super Hornet
represented in these new Centennial of Naval Aviation decal sheets. VX-9
is a very unique squadron with it's role of Air Test and Evaluation of numerous
different aircraft types and it cool to see these two jets on this decal sheet.
I would like to thank Twobobs
for this review sample.
This sheet is available through
the Twobobs
website and select US Hobby Shops. Overseas customers can purchase these from
Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
