No update today.  I was busy all Sunday celebrating my daughter's birthday and didn't have much of a chance to get an update done for today.

Sunday,   June 29  2008

Serge Dompierre is here with one of my favourite 109's.  This the 1/48 Hobbycraft Me-109 E4 in the markings for Major Adolph Galland in Aug of 1940 during the peak of the BOB.  A excellent looking yellow nosed 109.

Saturday,   June 28  2008

Yun Chong begins today with his first article on ARC.  This is Yun's 1/72 Tamiya General Dynamics F-16 which is built out of the box with very good results.  I like how this F-16 looks and I hope to see more of Yun's models on ARC in the future.

Adam Bates is here with a very well done 1/48 Tamiya DeHavilland Mosquito Mk.XIII Night Fighter.  This particular Mosquito is an RCAF aircraft and Adam used his new airbrush on it with flawless results.  It looks like Adam is hooked on airbrushing.  Beautiful job Adam.

  Djibouti National Day

Baran Cakmak joins us from sunny Turkey to get things started today with his 1/28 Revell Fokker DR 1.  Baran built his Dr 1 mostly out of the box with the exception of some very well done and effective engine detailing.

Vasilis Dimitropoulos is here from Greece with his 1/72 Italeri/Tamiya Ju88 C6.  Vasilis has a very special Ju-88 here today.  This one has a nose full of guns for a frontal attack......but the nose cone is painted to look like a glass nose of a bomber.  Vasilis added extra detailing and a first class winter camo paint job.

Jacey Guo has taken the older 1/48 Revell F-5E and finished it off in the attractive markings of a USMC adversary jet complete with a desert camo scheme.  I do like how it turned out.

Allan Yeats has done a fantastic job on his 1/48 ICM Spitfire VIII.  This kit has a loyal following despite it's shortcomings, but Allan finished it off with style in the markings for a weathered Spitfire in Burma.

Laurent “Angus” Beauvais is here to blow you away with his 1/48 Revell Mil Mi-24 D late.  Laurent did endless improvements to his Czech Hind and finished it off in a cool looking Tiger camo.  Sit back and enjoy....this is quite the model.

David C S Teo is here with his sharp looking 1/144 Minicraft SQ B777-200.  David did this kit justice and ended up with a fine looking model in the livery for Singapore Airlines.

Tudor Gheorghiu has done an exceptional job detailing his 1/48 Tamiya Focke Wulf Fw 190D-9.  Tudor added Aires resin detail items and I must say the finished Dora looks fantastic and detail rich.

Guy Wilson has  worked hard to get his 1/32 Tamiya F-15E Strike Eagle looking like a real Strike Eagle.  Guy paid close attention to detailing and painting an weathering and his F1-15 looks exactly like the real jet.

Agnieszka Kuś is here from Poland with her latest models.  Today she has a series of 5 1/48 Academy Hughes 500 paint in a variety of paint schemes from different countries.  Agnieszka has provides quite the colourful selcetion of Hughes 500's for you to enjoy that she did a very nice job on.

Shawn "Phantom" Weiler is here with his 106th  Phantom model.  This is Shawn's 1/48 Hasegawa RF-4E done in markings that I find doubly attractive.  Not only is this jet in Luftwaffe markings......but it's also in Tiger markings. Shawn gave it his usual care and attention to complete this one in it's multi-shade camo scheme.

Ray Hemenway has dropped by with another of his eye catching WW1 fighters.  This is Ray's 1/28 Revell Spad XIII finished and display with a  figure of Eddie Rickenbaker to resemble a vintage photo from WW1.

I have a review of the new  1/72 or 1/48 British Phantom Stencil decal sheet from AirDOC (Aircraft Documents).  This decal sheet from AirDOC includes Stencils for the Tactical grey/green and the all grey Air Defence Camouflage.

Marko Skukan dropped by the ARC Corporate offices in Croatia with part 1 of his article on his Part I 1/48 Hasegawa F-16I Sufa conversion.  Today Marko shows how he detailed the wheelbays and canopy on his F-16I.  This F-16 will be loaded with much scratchbuilding and aftermarket detail items.

Michael Ezat has been busy adding detail to his 1/48 Tamiya A1 Skyraider.  Michael chose to add wingfolds and a full weapons load before he finished his Skyraider in colourful markings and a full weathering job.  Michael captured the look of the Skyraider very well.

Marcus Brown has taken detailing of 1/144 kits to a new level.  Marcus scratchbuilt various cockpit parts for his 1/144 Platz Fw 190D.  He also corrected various detail inaccuracies on the kit and displayed the canopy in the open position to show off the super detailing in the cockpit.  It's amazing what you can do in 1/144.

Franz Galli has done a lovely job on his 1/72 Italeri BAE Hawk Mk.100.  Franz dropped the flaps and finished it off with Royal Australian Air Force markings.  Gotta' love those Roo markings.

Thierry Jacques is here with his very good looking 1/72 Pavla Dewoitine D510.  Thierry built this limited run kit with great skill to produce quite a fine model of this classic French fighter.  I really do like how it turned out.

Here's the latest on my Triumph GT6 restoration.  This boring little article deals with the repairing and improving the GT6 Mk3 Windshield Wiper Switch.  This article gives you a taste of what effort and frustration is involved in replacing a part that was discontinued 25 years ago.

Friday,   June 20  2008
I've been busy this week working on my backyard.  Mini excavators were busy for half a day on Wednesday digging out the areas for the patio and walkways.  They removed 10 yards of rock hard soil.  I'm now turning my attention to designing and then installing the sprinkler system.  Due to lack of funds I'm doing as much of the work myself which really does slow down the project.  My kids getting out of school in 1 week has added pressure to the mix as they anticipate me setting up the $300 above ground pool.  :-D

Alex Kontiveis dropped by the ARC Corporate offices in Greece with his 1/24 Trumpeter Fw190 D-9 Dora.  Alex and his exceptional modelling skills are well known on ARC and this Fw-190 Dora is quite well done.  Alex did much scratch building on his Dora and explains how he figured out the camo colours.

Dennis Brackett is here with a different look at scale aviation.  These are his very realistic looking in-flight 1/72 Hasegawa F/A-18F, 1/144 Dragon F/A-18E Super Hornets that were inspired by Dennis seeing the real jets fly in training missions.

Deun Yu starts your Thursday with his 1/72 Revell F-22A Raptor.  The most difficult part of building an F-22 is to get the paint job right and I do like how Deun did his paint job.  He explains his techniques in his article.

Brian Pruitt has been busy building his vacuform 1/72 Formaplane UC-64 Noorduyn Norseman.  Brian had to do a fair bit of scratchbuilding to create his Norseman and he tells about some of the notable events involving the Norseman including the disappearance of big band leader Glen Miller.

Chee Hong Wong joins us with his excellent looking 1/48 Italeri F-14D.  Chee Hong started with the Italeri F-14B kit and converted it to an F-14D with much scratchbuilding and effort.  Chee Hong then finished off this F-14D with a beautifully done paint job.

Tudor Gheorghiu has done a flawless job on his 1/48 Hasegawa Focke Wulf Fw 190A-4.  This Fw-190 is wearing the winter camo scheme which is a favourite of mine and Tudor gave it just the right amount of weathering.

Andreas Sunarso has done a wonderful job capturing the look of a battle damaged 1/420 USS Defiant.  Andreas didn't have the easiest time building his USS Defiant but he stuck with it and the finished model shows the effort was worth it.

Eduardo Cruz ("Carioca") is here to show you his Boeing 737-900ER Cruzeiro.  Eduardo did quite a bit of cutting and scratchbuilding to create his "what-if" airliner and he details the build in photos from start to finish.  I do like how it turned out, but blue and white always looks good.

Mark Littrell has completed his tiny 1/144 Minicraft B-17G.   This tiny Bomber matches a bigger B-17 Mark built for a group build and in his article he talks about building this tiny kit was well as showing you how it looks next to his 1/48 B-17.

Thomas Olsson is here with something very special.  This is his carefully done 1/72 Airfix Swedish Mosquito in a very well done diorama base with figures, equipment and a ladder.  Thomas captured the look of this Swedish Mosquito very well and I must admit I like seeing the Mosquito in Swedish markings.

Björn Bäcklund has been very busy with his neat looking 1/72 Airfix Sk 14 conversion.  Björn started with the N.A. Harvard from Airfix and reworked most of it to create his little Swedish trainer.  I almost can't believe Björn stuck with it and managed to get this one done.

Björn Bäcklund did a fine job on his 1/72 Airfix Piper Cherokee.  Björn  painted in in SAS markings....SAS flying club that is.  I like how it turned out.

Björn Bäcklund is here with a rare Swedish plane.  this is his very well done  1/72 KP Nord N.C.701. Björn was very creative in the base he made complete with a map to show the purpose of this aircraft.

Björn Bäcklund joins us with two of his Swedish airliners.  These are his 1/144 Minicraft Douglas Dc-6 and DC-6B.  One is in a silver finish and both look excellent.
