Why
is it I’m a sucker for basket-case models? Oh suuuure- it’s cute and tiny,
no problem. I’ll have it done in a day or two!
Never
one to back away from a challenge, I took on the biplane from hell. The
flash was removed, the wheel struts were shaped as good as possible, and I
proceeded with building the mixed photo-etch/ crappy plastic cockpit. Lots of
work for stuff you won’t see anyway, but it looks good.

Painting
was carried out in fine form, then final assembly attempted. Yup, attempted.
UGH! SOMETHING didn’t look right, and from the pictures I could see it was the
lineup of the wings. S ome re-alignment and trimming solved it.
The
canopy then bit the dust. Brittle plastic piece of @#$%. Thank God for Squadron
Thermoform Clear styrene!
The
markings are for a Goblin stationed at RCAF station Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on
Canada’s east coast circa 1938. The airfield is now home to Sea King
helicopters, which at 47 yrs old qualify for antique auto status!
