1/72 Hobby Boss F-5E Tiger II Aggressor

I have been visiting ARC on a daily basis for some years now, but never had the confidence to submit a model.  I am a “from the box builder” although I do use the odd, after market transfer sheet.  Now I have the confidence to use an airbrush, and my good friend Lawrence taught me the Blue Tac method of masking I am experimenting with some interesting colour schemes.  This is the Hobby Boss kit, and was well priced but absolutely vice less and an absolute joy to build so I have no adverse comment whatsoever.    I served in the Royal Air Force for nine years in the 1980s and 1990s and live nearby the USAFE base at RAF Alconbury in England where they have an F-5E as gate guardian, so I fancied doing one.

Having used enamels with a brush for years and thinking they were too messy to spray, and thinking acrylics were the way forward, I have gone back to spraying enamels with great pleasure and satisfaction (email if you want my reasons).  For this model I used Humbrol enamels with a Badger single action airbrush with Blu Tac Tamiya masking tape.

I hope you like it and I have a 1/32nd Hasegawa one on the go with FCM Mexican markings.  (PS:  Happy Birthday to Steve Bamford, easy to remember, 22nd August, same as mine!)
