Shortly after World War II, the U.S. Navy commissioned North American Aviation to develop a carrier-capable, advanced version of its famous P-51 Mustang fighter for both air-to-air and air-to-ground operations.

A major “Black Project” was undertaken at a still-undisclosed secure location in the New Mexico desert utilizing highly-advanced propulsion, armament, and metallurgy technologies some of which allegedly made use of materials retrieved from an unknown vehicle which crashed near Roswell, New Mexico.
