The USS Theodore Roosevelt is one of the Nimitz-class modern US carrier which is still operational as of 2016. The kit used to build this model kit is the Trumpeter 1/700 CVN-71. The kit was satisfying as it is one of the only 1/700 scale Nimitz carrier plastic kit out in the market. The kit is enhanced with PE and crew PE by Eduard pre-coloured naval crew. The construction of the kit was straight forward and has some fitting problems which are quite minor. The colour used are by Mr. Color product with guide code given. Weathering is used on the deck and the ship main upper body. The aircraft used are given by the kit itself. The only modification are the decals for the F-14's Tomcat changed to "Jolly Rogers" squadron markings.

Since it was diorama on a water based scene the modelling paste is used to create the ocean texture, then Vallejo's water texture is used to create the shiny water effect with a pacific blue color applied using spray and airbrush to enhance depth and water scene. Cotton is used as the wave surrounding the carrier. The deck diorama scene is adjusted to have two F-14's tomcat launching from their catapult with smoke coming out from the launch pad trail using cotton as well.

Overall it was an exciting build and I'm hoping to build more modern carriers in the future as this subject is the most elegant in the modern naval genre. Thank you.
