The MiG-15 was the most-produced jet aircraft ever. Approximately 18,000 were built and used in many countries all over the world. MiG-15s became famous in the Korean War.

The MiG-15UTI was the twin-seat trainer variant. Not so as the single seater, which was replaced in the late 50`s, the UTI was in use well into the 1980s.

The Hobby Boss kit is one of their well-known ones. There are only a few nice parts with engraved panel lines. The fuselage is split top-bottom. Transparencies are lovely and clear. Therefore the cockpit is fairly basic; I took Wolfpack Resin Seats and the Eduard Interior photo etched parts, which fits "with a little help" also perfect in this Hobby Boss Kit.

The UTI comes with Soviet or Iraqi markings. The kits go together easily, only a bit of putty and sanding was used.

I choose the unusual Russian brown /green camouflage scheme with the classic Russian light blue underside. For the colors I use Revell Aqua Color, a red-brown from Ammo-MiG Acrylics (German tank color) and Model Color Acrylic for the dark sand. All colors are heavily faded and at least an overall spray of AK interactive Ultra Matt Varnish (strongly recommended).

At all, a nice little fighter, much pleasure to build.

Enjoy the photos.
