1/72 Dragon Mig-15 bis Egypt AF

--------------------

Here is my new kit built: Mig-15 bis in Egypt Air Force service.  I chose this version because I had an old Superscale decal sheet about export version of the Mig.

I have built the Dragon kit about Chinese Mig-15 (Ji-2): just the export version of the Mig.

I have began from the cockpit and that is detailed enough from the box. The only modification consists in the seat, that I have changed with Neomega resin seat. But the big problem is that the cockpit is a little bit narrow. So it’s necessary a little modification to get the seat into the cockpit tube.

Before hold the fuselage halves I have put in the front of it some lead balls to avoit the model seats on the back.

Than I have proceeded to hold wings and rudders. As all Dragon kits, also this needs more attention to join fuselage, wings and rudders to reduce the putty at least!

The other step is painting overall in natural metal: I have used Tamiya acrilic paint with airbrush and than I have paintede some panels with Testor Metalizer.

I have joined canopy, legs and wheels, I have added a wire on the wheel legs to simulate the hydraulic liquid tube.

I applied decals and I have proceeded to weathering the model with with acrylic oil paint (Burnt Raw Umber).

Finally I have added all other details and spray overall with acrylic transparent matt varnish.

The last picture is my  little son Federico. He helps me in modelling… when he sleeps!!!

Good modelling.
