1/48 Trumpeter P-40B Tomahawk IIA

In this Trumpeter kit, I liked the good quality of plastic, thin edges of wings.  At first look the kit is good fit to drawings from "In action", "The War in Air" and some other magazines & book's.  I think Trumpeter's Tomahawk is rather good, but this set has the wrong cockpit and terribly big rivets.

The fabric rivets was put away and new dots made with a gear wheel.  The model was partially re-scribed.

Part of Eduard photo etched set for the P-40E was used with additional over patching (flaps & some small details did not fully fit as they were for P-40B, of course ) ;)

The "Mosquitte" exhaust pipes & "Equipage" wheel's (rubber and resin) was installed on this model. I like that kind of aftermarket products very much and recommend theirs to all modelers. For panting, I used AKAN enamels (repack of DuPont automobile paint).

Best wishes,

Michael
