This plane belonged
to the Magyar Királyi Honvéd Légierő (Royal Hungarian Home Defence Air
Force), 102/2 Csatarepülő század (Fighter Attack squadron). The model is
showing the plane at the Börgönd-Kemenesszentpéter airport in October 1944.

Because of the muddy
conditions on the airfield, lower half of the gear bay covers were removed from
the plane. Also, the underwing bombs were fitted with different, lengthened
fuses for better effect against enemy infantry.
This kit was built out of box
using Gunze acrylics. Decals came from the Fw190 sheet of Hungarina decal
manufacturer: HAD (Hungarian Armour Decals). This sheet contains markings for
"white 21", but I decided to convert the markings to "white
17" and spray-on 7's respectively.

Since I'm a
carpenter, making the base myself wasn't a big deal. I used railroaders' grass
as a base for the airfield. I used a razor to shave away the grass from selected
areas and added soil using really fine mud left behind oil drilling. To finish
the base, I used different shades of green to color the fine fibers of the
grass-sheet.
