1/48 Tamiya P-51 B

Hello modellers!  This is my first article published on this site. I chose for this opportunity my last model : the Tamiya 1/48 P-51 B.  No problems to build this wonderful kit, I just added Eduard photo etch part for detailling the cockpit. You may have some troubles if you choose the Tamiya decals.

for paint I used Tamiya's & gunze's.  I airbrushed the white ETO-stripes on because that gives a much more convincing result than decals.  For the topside of the plane I used 75% olive drab & 25% yellow-green. For the underside, I used 85% neutral grey with 15% white. Weathering was done with Star Dust pigments.

I choose Don Gentile's plane. I had some problems with the antenna which (as you could see on photos) is a bit slack... The next time I'll make it differently! Good pleasure and I soon hope to have my 1/48 Hasegawa F8E-FN French Crusader on ARC....
