This is the Hasegawa
F-86F Sabre kit with the CAMS cockpit set along with pieces of the Eduards
photo-etch sets. This was my first venture into the all metal finishes and
it was without a doubt a learning experience. The kit itself is not that
great and I attempted to add some detail by scribing all the panel lines and
rivets holes. While assembling the kit I ran into problems with the
plastic cracking and breaking.

When I was able to
apply the finish, I used a combination of the Alclad chrome, white alum, dark
alum and stainless. I built this kit for a friend and he wanted it in
Turkish markings if you're wondering what the squares represent. I was
able to find some reference photos which were limited and needless to say the
sharks mouth wasn't standard on the Turkish F-86's are far as I could find.
It's not one of my best kits but
I did learn from it and I can't wait to do the next one.
