The pleasure, obtained from assembling of this model is compared only with its sizes...

Without going into details, I can say only that the fact that this is one of the best plastic models on a scale 1/48, which I sometimes assembled.

Preparation

After a certain meditation was selected version TBM-1D Avenger, USS San Jacinto with the ASD radar on the right wing. Immediately the interesting special feature of this machine founded - cowling is colored only in 2 colors - Navy Sea Blue and white, instead of those assumed to 3.

The source materials

Besides the plastic itself they were bought in addition «Big Ed» from the Czech «Uncle Eduard» and resin engine from Russian “Vector.

Vector’s engine delivered certain quantity of unpleasant minutes because of the need for adding more than 30 bent wire conduits and tightening devices; however, the result of that cost itself. Unfortunately, the most difficult moment proved to fitting it into the fuselage - it was necessary not only to grind off the walls of cowling, but also engine itself. Note that this is the standard problem of the majority of resin parts.
