Hello from Colombia! This is my
1:72 Matchbox Fiat G.91Y. I bought this plane in my travels to Guayaquil
(remember my article?). This series of photos starts from the sprues of
injection plastic up to the finished model mounted on a base that I created, I wait for like this!
This plane is an excellent
Matchbox kit, though I had to totally scratchbuld the cockpit as well as add
some detail.
The painting of the model was the
simple
part, I started with the fuselage, the wings, the helms of depth and
some small parts such as rims, bombs, launchers of rockets and the landing
gear doors.

Above you can see the plane after the first
paint session and before proceeding to assemble the fuselage, besides detailing of the
cockpit.
The cockpit was very complicated to construct
and the end result was very good, here I have a selection of 3 angles different from the already finished cabin.
Then I proceeded to the assembly of the wings and of the helms of depth as well
as the landing gear wheel wells. I detailed some internal parts to add
more realism, so you judge!
The construction of
the bombs, the rocket launchers and the landing gears was very easy. I
then placed them in their positions and the model could sit on it's own feet.
Later, I painted another color of the camouflage of the plane and it was ready to
have the decals applied, which were damaged as soon as they contacted the water, so
proceed to paint the emblems.
At the same time as
I constructed the plane, I made a base resembling a runway, a safety fence and 2
figures to complement the scene: a military Italian police and a curious tourist
armed with a camera, the result you can observe.
Finally, the police, the tourist
and another pilot doing public relations next to the Fiat G.91Y of 32 º
