Hello,
again! I'm back with my second big scale F-4E, this time from
Revell. The kit is good enough, but not good as the Tamiya one.
The overall fit
and detail quality are very good, but can not reach the Tamiya standards.
The cockpit is considerably poorer, and so are the clear parts as well.
Despite those drawbacks, no aftermarket parts were used during the
construction, except for the decals, which came from Plastimodelismo.
The
kit was built and painted some 15 years ago, when the H.A.F. received
additional Phantoms from the U.S. reserves in "Hill Grey II"
camouflage scheme. The painting was done exclusively with Humbrol enamels
and was quite lightly weathered, unlike my "Aegean blue" F-4E,
which is considerably worn out. By the way, all those "Hill Grey
II" machines are now painted in the astonishing Greek
"Ghost" camouflage scheme, the one worn by the Greek falcons as
well.

of the cockpit area. Although the quantity
and quality of detail are slightly inferior to the Tamiya kit, this one
builds into a magnificent model with just a little extra work.
Head-on
view of the Phantom. "Phantom" is
a greek word, meaning something like a "ghost"!
